Request for proposals Stakeholder engagement and Fundraising

KEM Hospital Research Centre Pune (KEMHRC- www.kemhrcpune.org has been striving to work for the populations at large in the country for five decades. Today the KEMHRC work focuses on research to build evidence for policymakers and currently have several projects encompassing clinical trials, social sciences and operational research with a focus on Reproductive & Child Health (RCH), adolescent health, demography and health, women’s development and beyond with a multi-disciplinary approach.

KEMHRC’s Vadu Rural health Program (VRHP- www.kemhrcvadu.org), conducts health research in rural communities with a mission to “provide evidence-based, sustainable and rational health care solutions for the rural population using globally relevant community-based ethical research”. VRHP has been instrumental in successfully devising and testing interventions for health problems such as newborn and childhood infections, lifestyle diseases and pregnancy care. These interventions have been adopted by the government health system for at-scale delivery. Having delivered impactful community-based health research for five decades, the need of the hour for VRHP is to diversify managing stakeholderour revenue sources for ensuring continuous and sustainable research work.

We invite proposals from qualified and experienced individuals/organizations for managing stakeholder engagement and fundraising. Stakeholders particularly include the community, research collaborators/funders, government health system and policy makers. It is expected that fundraising is done through donation drives, engagement with philanthropists and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) personnel, multimedia & social media and engagement with influential individuals of the society. The funds raised would be directed towards capacity/capability building of rural community and enhancing facilities to conduct research and generate evidence to inform health programs and policy formulation and deployment.

First important expertise we expect is ability to liaison with the service providers (public health system, private health sector, the industry in health sector, the media that works for health promotion, the donor facility that promotes health especially behavior change in the country etc). Second ability is to interact effectively with the service receivers (the community at large, the patients, the study participants etc). It could be done through one to one contact, social media, use of technology, print media or media like videos and films, meetings, gatherings, seminars, workshops and alike events.

Proposal format:A two-page proposal along with detailed CV. A presentation through Skype/Zoom on ideas and implementation plan may be requested.

Evaluation: One to two weeks from the date of submission

Evaluation criteria:

  • Cost competitiveness

  • Technical capabilities/experience

  • Relevance of the proposal to VRHP mission

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement

Project cost: Within INR 12 lakhs payed on a milestone or monthly basis.

Assignment period: Upto 28 th February 2021. Assignment could be extended depending on performance and availability of resources
